Around the houses you will find plenty of opportunities to attend cultural and sporting events. Not only do sporting events offer top performance, but in the cultural arena you can also attend musicals, operettas, operas and concerts by artists who are rarely seen in Europe. Heading north, the Venice Theatre can be reached in about 30 minutes, the Opera House in Sarasota and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in about 45 minutes by car. Further north, after about 75 minutes' drive, you can reach the Tampa Theatre, the Stageworks Theatre, the Carol Morsani Hall, the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, and the home venues of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Heading south, you can reach the Gulf Theatre in Punta Gorda in about 30 minutes. Further on, in Fort Myers and Naples after about 60 to 70 minutes' drive, you will find the Florida Repertory Theatre, Fort Myers Theatre, Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre or the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall. Right at Exit 123 of the I-75, next to the Miromar Outlets, is the Hertz Arena, home of the Florida Everblades (ice hockey).
The large stadiums also continuously host concerts by major artists such as Ed Sheeran, Pink, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Adele, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain and many more.
